Baseball’s Regular Season is Just Around the Corner

Opening Day will kick off on Wednesday April 4, 2012 in which the St. Louis Cardinals will face off against the upgraded Miami Marlins. Baseball fans have to be excited for the season to finaly kick off with all the offseason trransactions and signings made. The Marlins were able to reach an agreement in the offseason with sensational short stop Jose Reyes. The contract was worth $106 million over the next 6 years that gave the Marlins a new super star along with their new home. The team they willl be facing didn’t fair aswell.

During the offseason the Cardinals had been hopeful to resign one of the gretest players in the game right now if not the greatest, Albert Pujols. Pujols had expressed his desire to stay in St. Louis but with only a 5 year deal presented from the Cardinals, Pujols was forced to look elsewhere. Big mistake St. Louis. The team they are facing on Wednesday almost landed Pujols, but because of a no trade clause the Marlins refused to put  in the contract, the deal came crashing down. Pujols would sign a 10 year $254 million dollar contract with the Los Angeles Angels making them an automatic contender.
